Terms of service
Last updated 24 October 2026
These terms apply to everyone who uses QR Intercom ("the service"): visitors who scan a building's QR code, residents, and building managers. By using the service you agree to them. If you use it on behalf of a building owner or manager, you agree for them too.
The service
QR Intercom lets visitors call a building's residents or contact from a QR code, and lets residents and managers answer and open doors from a phone or browser. Building managers choose who is listed, which doors can be opened and when.
Not an emergency or safety system
The service depends on internet, phone networks, power and the building's hardware, and can be unavailable. Do not rely on it for emergencies, life safety or as the only way into a building. In an emergency call 000.
Accounts
- Keep your sign-in details and sign-in links private; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give accurate contact details and keep them up to date, so calls and messages reach you.
- Building managers may invite, change or remove residents' access for their building.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- call or message people to harass, threaten or spam them;
- open doors for, or give access to, people you are not entitled to let in;
- try to get around access controls, rate limits or bot checks, or interfere with the service or its devices;
- use the service to break the law or anyone else's rights.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules or puts a building, its residents or the service at risk.
Building managers
Managers are responsible for having residents' permission to add their details, for the door and schedule settings of their building, and for telling residents and visitors how the intercom is used there.
Messages
We send service messages by email and SMS (invitations, sign-in links and codes, alerts and monthly reports to managers). These are part of the service, not marketing.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve it, and update these terms; the date above shows the latest version.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by outages, networks, devices or third-party services, and our liability is limited to supplying the service again.
Privacy
How we handle personal information is set out in the privacy policy.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Questions: admin@qr-intercom.com.
